How can I strip back some painted aluminum garden furniture?

You can pressure wash it, but you might find it a little faster if you brush on a painter stipper. Brush it in to the cracks and the grooves so you can remove it all in one go.

Are you going to refinish it? If so aluminum needs to be sanded lightly or even better, sandblast it if possible. This helps with the oxidization and is part of the proper prep when dealing with aluminum. I do body work on big oilfield equipment, and they are all made out of aluminum. It will need to be primed right after. After the aluminum has been sanded it needs to be primed and painted within 12hours.

If you are not refinishing it you dont need to do anything to it at all, as you already know. Hope this helps! GOod luck

Go to Home Depot and get some orange natural stripper it will work great. Or use a pressure washer it will fly off.
