My dogs chew alot?

I have two black Lab's and they are chewing every thing. I know that puppies chew things but they are chewing my walls, wooden garden furniture and fance. They have loads of toys and I take them out on walks what more can I do for them not to chew so much. I have bought dog chews but they still do it. Help some one!!!!!!

My dogs chew alot?
First thing get a Kong for each of them.

Second buy some hot chilli powder, put it in a dish with a small amount of water and make it into a paste. Then paint the places where they have been chewing (or just paint the thing that they are chewing most recently) They will only chew it ONCE MORE!.

PS ....It won't do them any harm.
Reply:if you go to perfectpaws.com they have all sorts of tips on how to train puppies and dogs
Reply:Remove the "loads of toys". Limit them to one or two toys each. If the house is covered with toys for them to chew on, how is a young lab supposed to be expected to distinguish what is acceptable to chew on and what is not? Correct them when they chew on something unacceptable and divert their attention back to their toy. Good Luck!
Reply:Labs are notorious for chewing. Are they crate trained? If not, I highly recommend that as a way to keep them from chewing things in your home while you can't keep an eye on them. I recently had to crate train my Golden Retriever, who was getting into things when we weren't home. He easily adjusted to his crate and it keeps him safe.

It is great that you are walking them -- that helps. If you catch one of your dogs chewing on something that he shouldn't, correct him with a sharp, "No," and hand him one of his toys that he can chew on instead so he'll understand that it's okay to chew on the toy.

Do not hit the dog to correct him. You will not find any dog trainer or dog training book that ever recommends that tactic.
Reply:its good for the dogs jaw if they chew alot on bones and treats.
Reply:Well, you cant buy loads of toys and just toss them on the floor...you have to play with them. They are seeking attention from you.
Reply:Get them a chew toy of some type. I have 2 pits and they do it all the time from wood to shoes and it was nerve wrecking. I found they are very fond of tennis balls. This isn't something you can stop other than keep everything out there reach. It's gonna be hard but don't give up because they will destroy anything that feel goods to those gums, especially if they are still in the pup stage.
Reply:i think they r hyperactive n they enjoy chewing very very much so wat u can do is wenever they do something unpleasant scare them with a paper roll or hit (not hardly) if he doesnt listen to u in one time as if u ll not stop them now they r not going to stop in future.i assure you if u hit them a lit wen they do something wrong they remember it for always that if he ll do that thing again he s gonna get hurt again n they ll stop chewing n start there training classes too.

n u can consult their vet as he ll tell u more appropriately.

gud luck take care
Reply:Get rid of the dogs they will chew everything you have
Reply:Go to petstore and buy A CHEW KONG ask for one if u cant find You can put peanut butter inside and it totally works...dont listen to the guy who said get rid of your two bundles of love
Reply:In petstores you can probably find something like Bitter Apple. It's this nasty tasting spray. Spray it somewhere they chew a lot and most likely once they have their first taste of it they will not chew there again. Some dogs actually like the taste of Bitter Apple, but there are other brands that do the same thing so try some different ones and see what works best. Kongs are also good because you can put things like peanut butter and treats in them so they really like paying attention to those instead of furniture or walls or people's feet.
Reply:do you train with them?

I have Karelian mix and if I don't take the time to train with him sit, paw, etc. he chews more. Basically I'm saying you need to challenge them mentally. A handful of toys, and always stop them when you catch them, don't let them out of your site until you have this under control.

i catch my dog doing a bad behavior i tell him a firm no, if he continues I tell him firmly no again, and give an acceptable toy to chew and pet him once he has taken it, thus rewarding what is acceptable.

food items may increase this behavior, i have a chow i can prove it by.
