Cannot get over the fact that people let their pet bark all day without doing anything about it....Makes me hate the pet...and the owner! Why can't they see that incessant barking could bother the neighbors when they are trying to enjoy a nice sunny peaceful afternoon in their backyard ?
Last week, we invited new neighbors for a nice dinner and to get acquainted. They showed up with their dog who ended up climbing on my furniture and spraying my vegetable garden ! Now, how ignorant is THIS ? Needless to say that they will not get an invitation again and I won't make an effort to become friends!
I just wished pet owners would realize that it is not all of us that think that their horrible pet can be "cute"!!!!!!
Why are some people so ignorant when it comes to their pets?
People these day's take pets to be "fashion statements" or "accessorie's" and many pets are given too on holidays, were people don't realize a pet isn't a commitment for the holiday but for life. People can also be selfish, saying "I want a dog!" but not taking into consideration work, school, and otehr long time periods of activities done regualarly though out a day...
Also many pet's who become sick, depressed, lonely, are pet's that owner's compensate attention withs omething else, I knew someone who, since couldn't give their dog proper care, compensated attention with food, the dog got horribly sick and obese, know people don't realize these are like "children" they need love, attention, food, and help too, un-like children though they don't have the mouth to tell us when they need it, people all deserve to own pet's and what not, but if you don't/can't give it the proper care and attention it needs, if they really loved it they would give it up, for the better.
Your neighbor's probably took the invitation too far, And as I said before, they probably don't have time for it (said above), but teh way to solve this, let your neighbor's know that their "unexpected guest" was a bit of a nuisience, let them know that you think teh "barking" might annoy teh neighbor's because tehy are new tehy will take your advice, they wouldn't want to re-peat a bad experience!
But let them know that you don't "like dog's" maybe when you invite them again they will know you mean the two, from my perspective, I think they wanted you too get to know "all the family" but just fill them in, and start over again!
Reply:Some people are like that with their kids too. (Hopefully not the barking and spraying) I wanna know what the deal is with these people, too. It's called responsible pet ownership/parenting. I think the concept just eludes some.
Reply:Because they're probably the same people that have obnoxious kids you respect nothing because they were taught nothing.
Same with pets, people who don't teach their dogs doggy manners are irresponsible pet owners.
Given the same situation with a well-behaved dog, you would have felt differently.
Reply:*****AMEN!!!! *****
It's NOT "cute"!!!! It shows a TOTAL lack of BRAINS *%26amp;* RESPONSIBILITY!!!
The vast majority of people are IGNORANT *%26amp;* STUPID ...ignorance is CURABLE,but most folks are LAZY as well!
Reply:You sure have some rude neighbors!
What I don't get is when Fifi is growling or biting and the owners say, "Oh, she doesn't MEAN it" or "but she doesn't bite HARD" as they smile at their dog lovingly.
Reply:Sad, isn't it? It's really not the dog's fault; he hasn't been trained!
Shame on dog owners who don't properly care for or train their dogs...and, incidentally, what kind of person shows up for dinner dragging the family pet?!
Reply:I don't know what to say about the rudeness of showing up to someones home with a dog, but barking dogs are not all bad.
When a few streets in our neighborhood all adopted dogs, their barking proved beneficial in the crime department. The number of break-ins and car thefts went way down.
So when my dogs bark because they think someone is hanging around the house, I like it.
Reply:Next time a dog is barking non-stop fill a stream spray bottle with vinegar and spray the fence and above the dogs head. It stops pit bulls and I am sure it will stop your barkers. You can't blame them, just yourself, Why didn't you say , Oh Im sorry but I dont have animals in my home. This is a no "pea" garden and a no pee garden. Or spray him with the vinegar! Im sure they would have said, we will take our dog home.
Reply:These people are not responsable owners they should always ask before they bring pets over. other than that are they nice people if so ask them not to bring dog when they come for a visit
Reply:I have a dog, but I know where you are coming from. Our neighbors have a dog that is scared of storms...if there is one in the distance, she barks and screams! Our bedroom window is in the back of the house (they live behind us) and the dog keeps us up, or wakes us up in the middle of the night. I have been tempted to call them and tell them to let the dog in the house...their rooms are on the front of their house.
It was very rude of your neighbors to bring their dog to your house. They should have left the dog at their house. It is like inviting a smoker to a non-smokers house...you don't smoke in the house, or bring a lit cigarette in the house.
When we have company over, we put our dog in his crate while we visit.
Reply:My neighbor yells "shut up" at his dog every time he barks. I have cats, but I realize that it's normal. If you don't like your dog to bark all day, get rid of the dog! I'm used to screaming all day with my kids, so I think I've gotten good at tuning it out.
Reply:Well how rude were they to you?!!!!!Shame on them.
Reply:i agree! i have 4 great danes and love them completely they can do no wrong, BUT i surly know and expect that no one out side my family will! my dogs are brought in as soon as they start barking. but i hear my neighbors Shepherd all day long. i KNOW what you mean. there should be doggie / neighbor edicate!
Reply:Well I personally have a dog, and sometimes and it is a non stop annoyance. It usually stops barking though, but only when it starts running after something. Also don't hate the dog!or cat! cats and dogs(much like humans) are not very intelligent and are highly primitive. Dogs think they own everything so they bark to vocalize there thoughts.(they just can't whisper)also about the people with they're dog, well that is the stupidity and ignorance of the owner. Anyway why can't dogs be on furniture? they're probably twice intelligent as most human beings!(they just can't speak English!) Anyway dogs react to YOUR attitude if your angry so is it if your calm it will be too so when it barks CALM down. Also try watching dog whisperer.
Reply:yea and what gives your neighbors the right to have a dog in their own house in their own backyard doing what they want because they paid their bills..you should be all alone in the peace and quiet and not have to hear or see anything you dont want too in the middle of the after noono while your having a peaceful sunny afternoon ..huh?
I do, however, agree with you that they shouldnt have broought the dog with them to your house for "the dinner" but your neighbors can do what they want at their house , including letting their dog bark
Reply:Come on, that's not even worth asking. I'd say it's probably got something to do with ninety percent of our population being about as smart as the pet. Oh, and next time stab the dogs eyes out with ka-bob skewers and serve them up to the owners with some meat and greens. You won't need to worry about them after that.......... not really though..... that's not very nice is it....
Reply:becuse its sad to say animals can be trained humans are just not that good at doing it maby they should have classes for the owners as well as the pets train them both at the same time
Reply:I am a responsible pet owner but the neighbors behind me have several dogs who bark the entire time they are outside. It really bothers my husband, myself, and my dogs. The dogs are probably barking out of boredom. And bringing your dog(s) over to someone's house without being asked to is very rude. And, if a pet isn't well behaved, you shouldn't bring it along even if asked. There is some very easy "pet etiquette" that people should learn but some pet owners are lazy or don't care.
Reply:I like what BuffyFromGP said, it's true!!!
Reply:It isn't just pet owners. Manners seemed to have gone out the window about 2 decades ago. I have a friend whose kids break things every time they come over. She is a sweet woman, but she hansn't taught her kids to respect the property of others. A lot of people are just out for themselves and what they can get, they don't consider others. What a shame.
Reply:i'm sorry but it has nothing to do with ignorance there's people that complaint about everything and at the end those are the worse ones! ignorance is when somebody says that they hate the pet like you!!!
Reply:Dunno. I can't hear it. My Jack Russell is outside barking all the time. Just kidding. We are very conscious of how long we leave him out. He will bark if he gets impatient or bored. Time to let him inside. It's not the animal's fault. The owners are *******.
Reply:People just don't know how to train pets, properly. Perhaps suggesting some helpful hints to help train their dog, such as professional training classes, might be of assistance.
Reply:i am a dog owner and i agree with you 100%. my neighbor leaves their dog outside all day and it never shuts up.on the other hand there are some ignorant non pet owners. my others neighbors daughter hates dogs. she yells and howls at my dogs until they run up to our fence and bark at her. then she screams for her mother and the mom had the nerve to spray them with water. so i guess my point is people in general are ignorant
Reply:Well.....one they should have asked if they could bring the dog....The people just don't do the homework they should for owning a pet.It really isn't the pets fault and if they were responsible owners the dog would not act that way
Reply:because people are morons... not you and i of course...
Reply:Because of people are lazy and careless. Good Luck with the barking problem.
Reply:we are just dressed up cavemen
