Noisy neighbours - the final solution?

i lived in a semi for 18 years without any major problems, until the owner of the house thru the wall to me decided to become a private landlord and put his home up for let to DSS tenants, then my nightmare began. I had 20 months of banging doors, slamming windows, parties, people throwing up outside my bedroom window, kids jumping up and down on furniture banging against the wall and my garden being used as a toilet for their children and pets. The noise started at 8 a.m, with kids shreiking and only stopped at 3 a.m., when the party ended, this happened six days a week. I tried talking to them, playing my music system louder than theirs, slammed doors and windows, just as they did,but to no avail.Complained to the Landlord and was told not to go to the police,as his tenants were travellers and they would target me. travellers being gypsies. I loathed going home, it was making me ill with worry. Finally, I put my home up for sale and moved away, further out into the country, happy at last.

Noisy neighbours - the final solution?
Well, sounds like you found it. The only solution to that crap is to move, sorry to say. We can't force people to behave like civilized humans anymore.

Reply:Yours is a sad story ...It is very common one though. I am glad you found your peace ... sad for the new owners of your old home though.

I am basically living the same nightmare minus the gypsies. I have owned my condo for 5 years... It's very cheap for me to afford and I have had renovations done to make it quite nice.

Last year the unit upstairs from me ( a rental ) started a babysitting service for some of the mothers in the complex ... The noise level is horrible and she flooded and ruined the ceiling in my bathroom. I have complained to her landlord and to the management company to no avail ... They have physically threatened me. She told the mothers I was complaining about their children ... So now I have lots of trouble from a few neighbors .My car window has been broken, car scratched, I am cussed at when I am outside. They also threaten to leave the water on and go out. This lady above me collects welfare in addition to the babysitting money. Her daughter lives with her and also does not work. When they see me come home they bang and jump up and down on the floors in their unit. I am video taping and keeping a log ... I plan on suing the landlord and the management company. I also have the added concern that my ex of many years , shortly after we broke up he purchased and moved himself ,his new girlfriend , her 3 kids into a unit 25 feet from mine! The new girlfriend was unaware that I lived in the complex ... needless to say it's a very uncomfortable position ... through no fault of my own.

I cannot afford to move. Even with selling I cannot afford to buy a house in my general area. I would be forced into a rental at twice the cost of my condo.

It's a shame people have to be this way.

Unfortunately we cant depend on some people to be decent and do the right thing the old saying,

@rseholes breed @rseholes is true

If your parents don't know then you've no chance until your old enough to leave the nest and by then some peoples attitudes are so ingrained they have no chance anyway.

Vicious circle, but glad to read that things worked out good for you in the end.
Reply:My young son and I have just moved to a new flat (a council property)after trouble at our last address. They new place in is some ways, worse than the old in that we have gangs Teenage kids outside the communal door, who, might I add, don't even live here. They sit outside and draw on the walls, and shout out their sexual conquests to all that can hear.

The people next door have late night parties, with music coming through our walls and loud talking and shouting, people throwing things from their balcony's above mine and landing in a heap of crap outside my window, and dogs barking late into the evening.I'm glad you managed to escape and get on with your life,I think I might do the same.!
Reply:I appreciate you sharing. I am thinking of doing the same thing. Things are not too bad right now, but I see that things can become worse, fast.

Good luck.
Reply:Noisy Protest...
Reply:Infamous! Should we allow "poor people on welfare" to behave in an unsocial manner?
Reply:Well going to the police wouldn't of been the best idea. You could of got a lawyer and placed a court order on them or consulted council and got advice from them on what to do. As there is a process for the whole noisy neighbour things.
Reply:good for you. I've had similar experience but I didn't back down I fought to the end. I went to the neighbours letting agent and treatened legal action. It did'nt stop for a while, but they got fed up of me giving them grief, they left, another lot moved same again, but they too soon left, and another couple have moved in- again if they inflict me with noise, I will drive them out.

Peace.

Reply:You sound like a racialist and a person who's bigoted against poor people on welfare.

Also, be aware when you talk about a "final solution" to your problem with your Traveller neighbors, you are being really racially insensitive.

Hitler had a "final solution" to the "problem" of Gypsies living in Eastern Europe - he MURDERED 200,000 of them in Auchwitz and other death camps in Poland!

So, do you REALLY want to speak about "final solutions" to your petty disputes with your Gypsy neighbors?
